PHOENIX TWO SPIRIT COMMUNITY

WHO WE ARE

We advocate and empower Two Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ traditions and understandings by building and uplifting community through outreach and action. While group meetings are facilitated by three experienced Two Spirit leaders, the direction and responsibility of this group rests with all our Two Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ relatives, and decisions will be made as a collective. 

We seek to provide a safe gathering space for all Two Spirit relatives and other Indigenous LGBTQIA+ folx, as well as welcome allies who wish to help us further to our goals and mission without overwhelming the conversation. We also seek to connect with other Two Spirit groups, establish/continue the annual Arizona Two Spirit Powwow, and provide support and resources for Indigenous families living in the Phoenix Valley and surrounding areas. Of course, our efforts are meant to strengthen the voice, efforts, and lives of all Two Spirits and Indigenous LGBTQIA+ relatives.

We emphasize setting bold, community-focused goals and prioritize Indigenous ways of knowing. Like our ancestors, we are constantly growing and adapting to the changes of society, and we invite you to help us build and uplift community.
